People affected by cancer
How we make a difference, a Rotherham Carers Story
When my wife and I lost our daughter to breast cancer in 1997, we found the cancer journey a complete minefield; sometimes it was good and sometimes it was not so good. The worst thing was that I felt there was nothing I could do about it.
Around that time I heard about an event on cancer services in Rotherham so we went along and we were able to ask the questions we wanted to ask. At the event I was approached by the Cancer User Forum, now known as Cancer Action Rotherham and they asked me to join. By joining the Group I saw a means to putting the experiences I had with my daughter right, so that it would happen to other people.
