A Rotherham Carers Story

A few years after losing my daughter to breast cancer I then lost my wife to the same condition.  The seven years I had spent as a carer had been a helter skelter ride and although I had a lot of support from Macmillan, I still felt I could have received better support from other healthcare professionals.

Since joining Cancer Action Rotherham I heard that many other people had suffered the same experiences, they too had spoken out because they wanted to make a difference.

Cancer Action Rotherham has enabled me to be actively involved in strategic cancer groups both locally and regionally to ensure that cancer patients and carers views have an influence in the planning and delivery of services.
